Story
The name Torre Pali takes its name from the coastal tower built in the 16th century to defend the area from pirate incursions. Today, the tower is partially submerged by the sea, creating an evocative scene that attracts photographers and onlookers.
In the past this small village was a simple fishing village, where families lived thanks to the sea and agriculture. The locality has retained its authenticity, found in the traditions and genuine flavors that you can try in the restaurants and evening markets organized in summer.
The sixteenth-century tower that gives its name to the town is one of the most iconic architectural elements of the Torre Pali beaches. Just over half of it emerges from the water and represents testimony to the history of Salento, offering a touch of charm to the coastal landscape.
Nearby, you will also find the characteristic white houses typical of many Salento coastal towns. These simple and bright buildings, often embellished with colorful flowers and plants, reflect the authentic soul of the place.

Access to the beaches of Torre Pali is free but if you wish to use the services of the equipped beaches, the prices for sunbeds and umbrellas generally vary between 15 and 30 euros per day, depending on the season.
The best equipped beaches also have restaurants, bars and sports activities, making the beach experience even more complete. The high season, from June to September, is the busiest period, but visiting the beaches of Torre Pali in spring or early autumn will allow you to enjoy a quieter atmosphere.

Where it is and how to get there
The beaches of Torre Pali are located along the Ionian coast of Salento, about 70 kilometers south of Lecce and 10 kilometers from Santa Maria di Leuca. Reaching this location is simple both by car and public transport.
If you travel by car, you can follow the SS274 state road, which connects Lecce to Santa Maria di Leuca. Alternatively, during the summer, Salento by bus are active, convenient connections that will take you directly to Torre Pali.
Once on site parking is available near the beaches, however bear in mind that it can be crowded in peak months.

Torre Pali offers numerous experiences to try. You can visit the village of Salve, famous for its churches and the typical charm of the Salento villages or explore the nearby Pescoluse, famous for its heavenly beaches.
