Prices of Lido Playa Blanca
Now we come to an important practical aspect: the prices of Playa Blanca. The good news is that the Lido offers a superior experience at competitive rates. Indicatively, depending on the period, a complete place with umbrella and two sunbeds is around €20-25, an absolutely reasonable price considering the quality of the beach.
The seats in the front row overlooking the sea or in the VIP area obviously have a surcharge compared to the rows further back, but in exchange they offer more space and extra services.
And for eating and drinking? Again, the prices at the Playa Blanca bar and restaurant are normal for a tourist resort, with a good quality-price ratio.
Where is Lido Playa Blanca and how do you get there?
The Lido Playa Blanca is located on Lungomare Nazario Sauro in Lido Marini, in the province of Lecce.
Getting there Lido Playa Blanca is quite simple but, as always, we recommend getting around by car.
The beach is about 220 km from Bari and the route is all on fast-flowing roads: take the highway towards Brindisi-Lecce (SS16/SS613). Once you arrive in Lecce, continue following the signs for Gallipoli taking the SS101 towards the south-west. From here the road becomes SS274 towards Santa Maria di Leuca. After about 30-35 km from Gallipoli you will find the exit for the Ugento marinas; exit at the sign for Lido Marini and follow the local signs.
Lecce is much closer to the Lido, about 70-80 km away to the south. Take the SS101 to Gallipoli, continue on the SS274 towards Santa Maria di Leuca and from here the exit for Lido Marini/Ugento.
However, if you are traveling in the summer and do not have a car, you can use the seasonal public connections Salento in bus and there is a line that covers the route to Lido Marini in about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Activities nearby
A holiday at Lido Playa Blanca does not only mean sea and relaxation under the umbrella: you are in one of the most fascinating areas of Salento, full of places to discover and experiences to live.
After spending the morning swimming and sunbathing, you could spend the afternoon exploring the other beaches and coves nearby. The coast around Lido Marini is a succession of postcard-perfect places: to the north, a few minutes by car, you will find Torre Mozza and Torre San Giovanni, two other marinas of Ugento with long sandy beaches and turquoise waters.
Behind the coast lies the Regional Natural Park of the Ugento Coast, a reserve made up of wetlands and coastal lakes. You can venture out on a walk among the reeds, perhaps during the cooler hours, to observe aquatic birds and typical plants such as sea lilies on the dunes.
And what about Santa Maria di Leuca? About 25 km away, the extreme tip of the heel of Italy offers magnificent views from the Santuario de Finibus Terrae and from the lighthouse, where the gaze becomes a witness to the meeting of the Ionian and Adriatic Seas.
Finally, there is no shortage of opportunities to savor the gastronomy of Salento. During the summer, Lido Marini and the nearby towns host festivals, patronal feasts and evening markets. Every Friday evening, for example, a characteristic crafts and typical products market is held in Lido Marini where you can buy original souvenirs, from hand-embroidered doilies to Grottaglie ceramics, and taste specialties such as pecorino cheese, puccia or a glass of Primitivo wine produced in the surrounding vineyards.
