Where are the Orte Otranto located
The Orte are located a few kilometers from the center of Otranto, in the easternmost part of Salento, in Puglia. This location belongs to the territory of the Costa Otranto-Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase Regional Natural Park, a protected area known for its biodiversity and scenic beauty.
Orte Otranto how to get there
If you leave from Lecce we recommend arriving at Orte by car, as there are no public transport connections. Just take the SS16 and follow the signs for Otranto.
At this point, to reach the Orte Otranto bay there are two possibilities: leave the car in the car park near the Bauxite Quarry and continue on foot towards the sea which can be glimpsed on the horizon; or leave the car near the Masseria Orte and continue on foot through the Mediterranean scrub for a few hundred meters. In both cases, we suggest you wear comfortable shoes!
