The official birth of the municipality took place in 1913, when Santa Cesarea, until then dependent on Ortelle, obtained administrative autonomy, taking the name of Santa Cesarea Terme in 1929.
The healing waters of the area flow from four suggestive caves – the Gattulla, the Solfatara, the Solfurea and the Fetida – and are surrounded by a legendary aura.
According to pagan mythology, these waters originated from the collapse of the Leuternian giants, killed by Heracles.
Christian tradition, however, tells of Caesarea, a young girl who, persecuted by her father for her monastic vocation, found refuge in a cave. There, miraculously, the flames enveloped her father, saving her and giving life to the legend that still permeates the identity of the place today.

Thermal treatments can be carried out from May to December, while the opening hours of the thermal park follow a daytime period.
